We hope you had a great week! Thank you to all of our families who turned out for our Fall Walk to School Event. We had so many families participate and we received some great feedback about the walk taking place on the SNETT trail. We look forward to doing this again in the spring.
The Importance of Good School Attendance
School attendance is critical fro student academic and social success. We monitor student attendance throughout the school year and send letters to families when student attendance trends towards 10% of days absent in a given period of time. Our efforts are meant to inform families and to reduce the risk of chronic absenteeism. Chronic absenteeism is defined as any student missing 10% or more school days within a school year.
During the 25/26 school year, 43% of BPS students were at risk for chronic absenteeism, and were chronically absent. This year, we have a districtwide goal for all of our students to be at school 95% of days or more. Here is our standing after 31 days of school so far at DiPietro:
- 79% of students at DiPietro are meeting the district goal.
Overall, 72% of students in our district are meeting their goals. We are here to support and work with families in meeting this goal. Let’s keep up the good work in supporting our students to ensure regular school attendance!
We want to let all families know that we will be having a lockdown drill in the coming weeks. The drill will take approximately 20 minutes. Teachers will be preparing students for the drill in a way that is similar to how we prepare for other safety drills. All families will receive an email notification the day before the drill and a communication once the drill has taken place. We conducted a lockdown drill last year and all went smoothly. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Please don't forget-our
DiPietro Fun Run will take place next
Friday, October 23rd. We will follow this schedule:

Reminder about Pets during Arrival and Dismissal
Families, even though many of us love pets, we want to remind you to keep them at home or in your cars during morning arrival and afternoon pickup. Some of our students are afraid of dogs while others have allergies. In addition, the movement of lots of students and adults can create an unpredictable and stressful environment for your pets. Thank you for your help with this.
We are so excited to partner with all of you once again this year. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns.
